- 1 Lbs. Haddock Fillets
- ½ Tsp. Garlic Paste
- To Taste Salt and Pepper
- ½ Cup Flour
- ½ Cup Corn-Flour
- 3 Large Eggs (1 For the Marinade, 2 For Breading)
- ½ Tsp. Carom Seeds
- ½ Tsp. Dried Fenugreek Leaves
- 1 Tbsp. Soya Sauce
- 2 Cups Breadcrumbs
- 2 Large Russet Potatoes
Prepare the Potatoes for Chips:
Wash, peel and cut russet potatoes into even-sized chips. Then soak them in cold water for at least 30 minutes or maximum an hour.
Drain the water and pat dry them with the help of a paper towel. You can also season them with simple salt or any seasonings of your choice.
Prepare the Marinade:
In a large size bowl add all ingredients for the marinade like garlic paste, soya sauce, salt, black pepper, fish masala, carom seeds, dried fenugreek leaves and egg. Mix well to make a thin consistency paste.
Now add in fish strips one by on in the marinade and mix them all together so that all the fish is covered with the marinade.
Add flour and corn-flour in the marinade and mix well so that all the flour is coated well over the fish strips. Cover and refrigerate for an hour.
Prepare Breading Station and coat the Fish:
Beat two eggs in a bowl and season with any seasonings of your choice. Add breadcrumbs in another bowl and season it as well.
Now take out marinated fish from refrigerator and start breading them by first dipping each piece in egg mixture first followed by coating them with breadcrumbs one by one.
Air Fry Fish and Chips:
Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 to 10 minutes. Place butter paper in inside basket of your air fryer and brush oil over it.
Start placing fish strips in the air fryer basket in a way that there is a little space between each piece.
Spray or brush the oil over fish strips and air fry them for about 20 minutes, flipping them halfway through to ensure they are cooked equally from both the sides.
Now, air fry chips by repeating the same procedure for about 12 to 15 minutes, shaking and tossing them halfway through to ensure even cooking.Serve hot Fish and chips and enjoy your meal!
